  When we think of social justice, we typically think of action, and action is certainly vital, but we also need study and reflection to help us understand the complexity that surrounds any given issue. Here are nine new and upcoming books that span a wide range of social justice issues and will be worth reading this fall. Social Justice Book Group We strive to learn more about the world outside our own bubbles. We read both nonfiction and fiction on timely topics and in our discussions try to challenge our own assumptions without judging one another.

The mission of Social Justice Resources is to provide social justice resources for teachers to use in K Iowa schools. The resources have been built through the collaboration with faculties and graduate students in the College of Education along with colleagues at the Public Policy Center who work with Iowa City Community School District. Partly prompted by the current social unrest in India regarding the reservation policy and partly stimulated by the facts of the matter, I begin the process here of looking at the issue of reservation and social justice in a slightly different way.
